I used to really enjoy going to the gym, not so much any more. Gone are the days when I was a developing young athlete, lifting heavier weights on an almost weekly basis. These days it just hurts, and I see very little, if any improvements. But today was a little different. Thanks to a perk of the BOA Passport Scheme, I now have myself a complimentary David Lloyd membership. Although I have pulled back on doing gym at the moment due to a slight elbow injury (I told you it just hurts!), I decided to pop down to my local David Lloyd in Chigwell to do my rehab exercises. Things started off pretty well, I found the changing rooms and got myself ready. Then I managed to get a little confused and couldn’t even find the gym! Having looked like a lost child for a few minutes, I thought it best to just ask, and was pointed in the right direction. After checking out the gym facilities and doing my exercises, I thought it would be rude to not use the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. It was at this point that I remembered I’m not a big fan of doing nothing! I quickly got bored, did a bomb in the swimming pool, and decided to call it a night. It will be nice to mix things up with the David Lloyd gym and the Lee Valley Athletics Centre, maybe it will help me like going again…………..
